Village Departments

There are many ways in which the Village of Darien works to serve the community.  The following are the major departments of the Village, including a description of their main functions.  If you need more information on a particular Village service, these sections of our website should be helpful to you.

 

Village Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer's Office

This department is responsible for overall general Village operations.  Key staff members include the Village Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer and Administrative Assistant.  

Public Safety
This department is responsible for all safety and emergency activities in the Village. Key staff members include the Superintendent of Public Works, Fire Chief & Emergency Medical Response Chief.

Parks 
This department is responsible for maintenance in the Village's four parks. The key staff person responsible for park maintenance is the Superintendent of Public Works.

Public Works
This department is responsible for the maintenance of the Village infrastructure as well as the operation and maintenance of the Darien Water & Sewer Utility.   The key staff person is the Superintendent of Public Works.
